On Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took a direct shot at Taco Charlton when discussing the team’s draft successes and failures over the years.
“There’s a lot of talk in this business about who makes the call. Who actually makes he call,” he said when talking about how the Cowboys decide on a pick. “Taco was Stephen’s call. [Micah] Parsons is my call.”

The former first-round pick isn’t going to get too worked up about Jones’ comments, though. After all, he signed a four-year, $10.02 million contract with the Cowboys at the start of his NFL career. $7.73 million of that contract was guaranteed.
Charlton was happy to take Jones’ money.

That’s pretty well done by Taco. Jones deserves this for what he said.
Charlton has played for four teams over the past five years. The first two were played in Dallas. He spent 2019 in Miami and 2020 in Kansas City. Last year he played for the Steelers, where he totaled 18 tackles and a 0.5 sack.
The former first round pick will play for the New Orleans Saints this upcoming season.
