On Thursday night, most college football fans were glued to the TV with No. 4 Ohio State taking on Minnesota.
However, there was plenty of college football action going on elsewhere. Kicking off from Charlotte, North Carolina, Appalachian State and East Carolina took center stage on Thursday night – for a weird reason.
The Duke’s Mayo Classic got off with a fast start, with East Carolina taking a 6-0 lead. Appalachian State stormed back before the half, scoring 20 unanswered points en route to a 20-6 halftime lead.
And yet, the play on the field wasn’t the highlight. Now, that honor belonged to two fans in the stands who were housing mayonnaise like it was their job.
No, seriously. Two fans in the stands were having a mayonnaise eating contest at the Duke’s Mayo Classic tonight.
Check it out.

The Duke’s Mayo Classic wouldn’t be complete without a few fans eating mayo in the stands, or so they say.
It’s an interesting move, one that the rest of the college football world isn’t too sure about tonight. If the goal was to go viral, though, it worked.
