Trevor Lawrence was in Charlotte to catch his Clemson Tigers take on the Georgia Bulldogs last Saturday. Not only did his Tigers lose, he then had to pay up on a bet he lost.
No. 5 Georgia dominated the line of scrimmage to take down the Lawrence-less Clemson Tigers on Saturday. A pick-six thrown by Lawrence’s successor, D.J. Uiagalelei, proved to be the difference in a 10-3 final score. Clemson now has plenty to try and fix with the 2021 season in full swing.
Lawrence, meanwhile, made a bet with one of his Jaguars teammates over the weekend that Clemson would win the game. The Tigers didn’t, so Lawrence had to pay the price. The No. 1 overall pick was sporting a full Georgia Bulldogs outfit on Monday.
Take a look (unless you’re a Clemson fan).

This is pretty brutal, but it’s not the worst lost bet we’ve ever seen. At least Trevor Lawrence didn’t have to suffer through an embarrassing haircut or something like that. It looks like his teammates took it easy on him.
Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars will begin the 2021 regular season this Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Houston Texans. It should actually be a pretty competitive game. The Jaguars would love nothing more than to start the season on the right note with a win.
Clemson, meanwhile, gets back to work this week. The Tigers will take on SC State this Saturday.
