A very special guest was in attendance for Saturday night’s marquee game between the Clemson Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs.
Former college football superstar Trevor Lawrence was in Charlotte to cheer on his Clemson Tigers on Saturday night. He, of course, led Clemson to three straight College Football Playoff appearances with one championship win during his collegiate career. The Jacksonville Jaguars then took Lawrence with the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft earlier this year.
Clemson, meanwhile, is moving on with rising star D.J. Uiagalelei. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound quarterback has all the makings of becoming a superstar, but he has big shoes to fill. Lawrence would love nothing more than to see his successor succeed.

Trevor Lawrence’s appearance at the Clemson-Georgia game speaks volume about the Tigers’ culture they’ve built. It’s always awesome to see former players return to cheer on their alma mater.
The Tigers are confident Uiagalelei can live up to expectations. He’s not as mobile as Lawrence, but has a rocket arm and should be able to avoid injuries because of his size. If Uiagalelei can be half the player Lawrence was in college, Clemson will be in good shape.
You can catch the Clemson-Georgia game right now on ABC. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit are on the call.
