Committed to excellence

Arizona State Men’s Golf is lucky to welcome three new freshman to the team for the 2021 season.

One member out of the trio is Preston Summerhays.

Summerhays comes to ASU as a First-team Rolex Junior All-American and a 2019 U.S. Junior Amateur Champion.

He is the youngest Sunnehanna Amateur champion (2020) and was a part of the 2019 U.S. Junior Presidents Cup Team.

He is a local prodigy from Scottsdale and attended Chaparral High School.

He also competed in the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York, but finished just three strokes shy of the cut.

His accolades are just part of the reason he will be a great addition for the Sun Devils.

The consensus around Summerhays by golf enthusiasts is “impressed” — impressed by his work ethic and how he well he improves after each course.

Simply, he is “committed to excellence.”

Summerhays will continue to practice and elevate his game this summer. Then soon enough, he will find himself in Tempe ready to help ASU achieve their goal of winning a championship.
