The NBA has officially decided on a punishment for what Miles Bridges did during Wednesday night’s play-in tournament game.
The Charlotte Hornets saw their season come to an end in a frustrating 132-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Bridges had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists in the defeat. However, it’s not his performance that’s making headlines.
Bridges’ emotions got the best of him as he began realizing in the fourth quarter that his season was coming to an end. He challenged a goaltending call and quickly got two technical fouls for his outburst. As he exited the court he threw his mouthpiece at a specific fan, but it wound up hitting a young girl.
Just moments ago, the NBA decided its going to fine Bridges $50,000 for his actions.
“Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges has been fined $50,000 for throwing his mouthpiece into the spectator stands, which resulted in the mouthpiece striking a fan, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations.
“The incident occurred after Bridges received two technical fouls and was ejected in Charlotte’s 132-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on April 13 at State Farm Arena.”

Miles Bridges was well aware right after the game that he made a mistake.
He explained that he was aiming his mouthpiece at the fan screaming at him as he was walking to the tunnel.
“I was aiming for the guy that was screaming at me and it hit a little girl,” Bridges said, via ESPN.com. “So that’s definitely unacceptable on my part and I take full responsibility. … That’s out of character for me. You’ve been around me; I don’t act like that or ever flash out like that. So that was definitely wrong, a lot of emotions and hopefully I can get in contact with the young girl and sincerely apologize to her and do something nice for her, but that’s definitely on me.”

It’s going to be a long offseason for Bridges and the Hornets.
