MLB World Reacts To Unfortunate Clayton Kershaw News

On Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers received some tough news about star pitcher Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw left Friday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the top of the second inning. After throwing over 40 pitches in less than two innings of work, an injury that kept him out for a large part of the season flared up again.

Following the game, Kershaw said he’ll get his arm looked at in the coming days, but “it’s not looking great” for him to pitch in the playoffs. “That’s the hardest part for me right now is just knowing that chances are it’s not looking great for October right now,” he said after the game, via ESPN.

Fans were devastated by the news, thinking this might be the last time he puts on a Dodgers uniform. They weren’t ready to think about that reality just yet, though.

“I realize technically this could be Clayton Kershaw’s final start as a Dodger, but if the team doesn’t re-sign him it’s quite literally time to riot,” Dodgers writer Eric Stephen said on Twitter.

Kershaw said after the game he was just hoping to be part of the team’s potential October run.

“The biggest thing was I just wanted to be part of this team going through October,” he said. “This team is special. You saw tonight. … I’ve known that. I know that we’re gonna do something special this year, and I wanted to be a part of that.”

If this is the end, it’s a tough way for Kershaw to go out.
