NASCAR fans got a treat on Sunday, as Dale Earnhardt Jr. was on loan to FOX from NBC, covering the Geico 500 at Talladega.
NBC executives agreed to loan Dale Jr. to FOX, which had the broadcasting rights for Sunday’s Geico 500 at the iconic track.
Earnhardt Jr. dominated Talladega during his NASCAR career, winning six times, including four races in a row at one point.
He enjoyed his time on the broadcast.

NASCAR fans loved it, too.
“Dale was fantastic working with the fix crew, wouldn’t be opposed to see what other things could be cooked up between the two networks, it’s not like they are competing against each other, they air totally different parts of the season.. you can talent share more,” one fan tweeted.
“I wish other sports would be able to pull this off. My only question now is what is NBC going to get in return?” another fan wondered.
“This was a glimpse of the NASCAR television future I believe. Junior & Bowyer were so good together. Why should we not get this every week? Networks working together is so good for viewer,” another fan added on Twitter.
“You are the Tony Romo of NASCAR!” another fan proclaimed.
