Utah Jazz star center Rudy Gobert may have gotten a little too excited in his post-game press conference after beating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4. Unfortunately for him, the NBA has delivered its judgment.
In a statement just released by the NBA, the league announced that Gobert has been fined $25,000 for profane language used during a TV interview. Gobert said “F-k the talk” when asked about his team’s 100-99 win over the Mavs on Saturday.
“Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been fined $25,000 for using profane language during a live television interview, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations,” the statement said.
“Gobert made his comments during an on-court interview at the conclusion of the Jazz’ 100-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on April 23 at Vivint Arena.”

Rudy Gobert has been averaging 11.3 points and 14 rebounds per game through these first four games of the series. Though he’s been averaging 16 points a game over the last two.
With the series now knotted up at 2-2, the Jazz need more big games from Gobert if they want to get past the Mavs, let alone make a run in the NBA playoffs this year.
As excited as Gobert and the Jazz are for their playoff hopes, now is not the time to be making even the small mistakes.
Will Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz take the lead after Game 5?
