NFL Player Admits He Wanted To Be Cut By Team

Getting cut is usually a bad thing for professional athletes, but for one former Las Vegas Raiders player, it was a positive outcome.

Arden Key, 25, was a third round pick by the Raiders in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The former LSU Tigers star had been with the Raiders since 2018. However, he was cut by Jon Gruden’s franchise earlier this year.

Key has since admitted that he wanted out of Las Vegas.

“To be honest I wanted to get out of there. I was more happy than surprised. I wish it happened a little earlier, but hey, I got what I wanted,” Key admitted while speaking to reporters on Sunday morning.

Key further explained what he disliked about the Raiders.

“It was just bad. It was bad all around. Bad system, not the right fit, it had to get out,” he explained.

Why was it bad?

Key is now a part of the 49ers defense, which could be one of the NFL’s best in 2021 and beyond.

San Francisco is scheduled to open the 2021 season on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Detroit Lions.
