As the NFL prepares for the opening of training camps next month, the league sent out a memo regarding new COVID-19 protocols for vaccinated and unvaccinated players.
In short, if you’ve been vaccinated, you are going to have a lot more freedom than if you haven’t. Fully vaccinated players won’t be subjected to daily testing, have to wear masks at team facilities, or socially distance, among other regulations.
Below, you can see a more complete look at what the new protocols will entail, via NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The NFL and NFLPA have agreed to updated COVID-19 protocols for 2021 training camp and preseason, per source.

The NFL is not allowed to institute a vaccine mandate, but by creating these various “perks” for inoculated players, they are sending a not-so-subtle hint to the league’s workforce.
“The NFL and NFLPA are sending a very clear message to the players: We’re not going to require you get vaccinated, but you’re in for a very long year if you don’t,” Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer tweeted.

However, four teams reportedly lag behind the resto f the league in terms of vaccination rates: the Cardinals, the Chargers, the Colts and the Jaguars.
