The Baltimore Ravens’ odds of winning the Super Bowl may have just taken a serious hit. Moments ago, running back J.K. Dobbins was carted off the field with a knee injury.
The injury for Dobbins occurred on a screen pass on second down. It wasn’t a non-contact injury, as he took a nasty shot to the knee from Washington Football Team cornerback Jimmy Moreland.
Dobbins, 22, is entering his second season with the Ravens. As a rookie, he had 805 rushing yards, 120 receiving yards and nine total touchdowns.
Baltimore has high hopes for Dobbins this year, but now his status for the regular season is in jeopardy because of this injury.

NFL fans understand why the Ravens wanted Dobbins to get a few snaps tonight. That being said, they believe this injury is proof that teams should rest their starters in the preseason.
“I understand the importance of game reps for starters, but J.K. Dobbins going down with a potential serious injury is exactly why you play it safe and rest them,” Ravens reporter Kevin Oestreicher said.

“Ravens gave the starters a couple of series, got nothing going, scored 0 points, and lost JK Dobbins,” Sam Monson of ProFootballFocus said. “You can see why more and more teams just aren’t letting their starters anywhere near preseason football anymore.”

If Dobbins is out for the season, the Ravens are going to rely heavily on Gus Edwards. He proved that he’s more than capable of handling a large workload in 2020, rushing for 723 yards and six touchdowns.
“I really really hope JK dobbins is all right,” Michelle Magdziuk of NFL Network wrote. “If he does end up missing a huge chunk of time, Gus Edwards is going to see a crazy amount of volume and have a ton of goal line opportunities.”
I really really hope JK dobbins is alright 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Edwards would jump Darrell Henderson in my rankings and be around the RB15 range.

Dobbins has already been ruled out for the rest of Baltimore’s preseason finale.
We’re hoping the Ravens receive a positive update on Dobbins in the coming days.
