It looks like free agent wide receiver Josh Gordon could be returning to the NFL soon after completing his mandatory league-approved sanctioned treatment program.
By now, Gordon’s issues are well-documented. He’s been suspended multiple times throughout his career due to violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy and did not play in 2020. In fact, he’s only appeared in 33 games since his breakout 2013 season.
Still, the one-time Pro Bowler is trying to get break back into the NFL. Gordon kept himself fresh playing in the Fan Controlled Football League earlier this year and now has his sights set on a return to the highest level.
The NFLPA has Gordon’s back. All that he’s waiting for now is for Roger Goodell to formally approve his reinstatement, and he can take the next step in his comeback attempt.
The reaction to the Gordon news is a mix of people pulling for him, people skeptical he can remain on the right side of the NFL’s drug policy and people wondering if they should take a flier on the 2012 second-round pick in fantasy football.

To be clear, we’re rooting for Gordon to stay on the right track, for the sake of his health and future if nothing else. Football is secondary.
Still, it would be fun to see him get another shot before it’s too late for him physically.
