Tom Brady is not only set to return to New England on Sunday night, but he’s likely to break an all-time NFL record in the process.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback needs just 68 passing yards to break Drew Brees’ all-time yardage record.
Brady is likely to do that in the first quarter. What will happen when he breaks it?
According to ESPN, the Patriots plan on pausing the game to recognize the all-time record. However, they won’t be completely stopping it for a celebration.
If Bucs’ quarterback Tom Brady sets the NFL all-time passing record Sunday night against his former team, and he needs only 68 yards to do it, the Patriots will pause to acknowledge it but not stop the game for a ceremony.https://t.co/wBtHSZfSCp

That’s probably how Brady would want it, to be honest. He’s as competitive as it gets and stopping the game for several minutes to celebrate an all-time record could have a negative impact on his performance.
“Why would they celebrate a visiting players achievement?” one fan questioned.
Not everyone agrees with the move, though.
“They should stop the game. Brady isn’t your typical road opponent. The only Patriots fans that don’t seem to understand this are under 25 and had a Jarrett Stidham profile pic at one time,” another fan responded.
“Brady should set the record. Get acknowledged. Then throw a -2 yrd screen pass. Reset the record. Get acknowledged again. Rinse and repeat until they give him a ceremony,” one fan joked.
It will be interesting to see what kind of response Brady gets when he sets the record, especially from the Patriots sideline.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. E.T. on NBC.
