Few NFL teams, if any, post the kind of tweet that the Dallas Cowboys did on Wednesday evening.
The Cowboys shared a message about star quarterback Dak Prescott, who is set to undergo another MRI on his strained shoulder.
The tweet has since gone viral.
“It’s not a setback. And it’s not a reason to worry. But QB Dak Prescott is planning on getting another MRI,” the Cowboys wrote.

Of course, there can’t be “no reason” to worry if Prescott is getting an MRI – he wouldn’t be getting an MRI if everything was guaranteed to be 100 percent fine.
“So it’s a recreational MRI? I had that for awhile. I just, frankly, got hooked on the dang things,” one fan wrote.
“Lmao a lot of people get MRIs for fun. There’s reason to worry. And if it were predetermined that everything was going to be fine he wouldn’t be getting an MRI,” another fan added.
“This is the equivalent of saying “Don’t be mad” knowing damn well it’s going to make them mad.. it’s sure isn’t great. Who the hell gets an MRI without cause,” one fan added.
Longtime sports media insider Richard Deitsch said he’s never seen an official tweet from a team like this.
“I’m not sure I have ever seen a Twitter post quite like this from a team account,” he wrote.

It’s an odd tweet, to be sure.
Prescott, though, doesn’t seem to be worried.
“Once i get back in the team setting, I’m not going to think about my arm,” Prescott said. “It’s about progressing at the right time. It all felt good out there. Every throw I made. When they tell you stop, you don’t want to hear it, but you (stop).”
Prescott believes he’ll be good to go for Week 1.
“Once Sept. 9 comes, I’ll move forward and won’t think about this again,” he said.
