NFL World Reacts To The Ravens’ Surprising Trade

April 29, 2022 by The Spun

Green Bay Packers v Baltimore Ravens

The first round of the 2022 NFL draft is officially underway and the craziness that has been the 2022 offseason hasn’t slowed down.

During the mid-way portion of the first round, the Baltimore Ravens made a stunning trade. The team shipped former first-round wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to the Arizona Cardinals.

Baltimore included a late third-round pick in addition to Brown for the No. 23 overall pick in the first round.

The football world couldn’t quite believe what was happening. That includes star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was caught liking a tweet that decried the Ravens for trading Brown.

“Lamar Jackson learning of the Hollywood Brown trade…” Ari Meirov said.

“Ravens are back in the 1st round. Trade disgruntled WR Hollywood Brown to the Cardinals. Very erratic production thus far with less than ideal size. Staring at 5th yr option with WR prices soaring,” NFL insider Jason La Canfora said.

One insider suggested the Ravens were working on something bigger.

“Why would the Ravens trade Hollywood Brown for the No. 23 pick when that selection is nine away from being on the clock? Only explanation is that it gives them time to shop that pick to the 49ers for Deebo,” Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk said.
