Ohio State Is Without 2 Projected Starters Against Minnesota

September 3, 2021 by The Spun

In just a few hours, No. 4 Ohio State will take the field for the team’s first game of the 2021 season.

It’s a Big Ten showdown against Minnesota that will have the nation’s attention later tonight. Before the game kicks off, though, the Buckeyes received some tough news.

Just hours before kickoff, the team announced it will be without 11 players in the season-opener. Two of those eleven players are presumed starters for Ohio State.

Junior offensive lineman Harry Miller and redshirt junior cornerback Cameron Brown were listed as unavailable. According to a report from Eleven Warriors, Miller had been tapped by Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa to be the Buckeyes’ new starting center early in preseason camp.

Despite losing two starters heading into the season-opener, Ohio State remains a heavy favorite. Minnesota managed a magical season during the 2019 campaign, but took a significant step back in 2020.

The Gophers finished last season with a 3-4 record, a far cry from the team’s 11-2 run during the 2019 season.

Ohio State and Minnesota will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
