Packers CEO Reveals If Aaron Rodgers Trade Is Possible

July 27, 2021 by The Spun

Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur discuss a play on the Green Bay Packers sideline.

Things seems to be trending in the direction of Aaron Rodgers reporting to Green Bay Packers training camp on Wednesday. That’s good news for the Packers, and for Rodgers too, if he wants to play football this season.

On Monday, Packers CEO Mark Murphy made it clear that while he doesn’t know for certain if Rodgers will make it to camp later this week, he does know the team has no intention of trading the three-time MVP.

“We’ve been very clear we’re nor trading him,” Murphy said, via NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

These quotes come after Murphy said earlier in the day the Packers want Rodgers back, no questions asked.

“We want him back, we’re committed to him for 2021 and beyond,” Murphy said, via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. “He’s our leader and we’re looking forward to winning another Super bowl. … A challenging situation but let’s not forget all the great things he’s done.”

Murphy acknowledges the #Packers have gotten calls about Aaron Rodgers. “We’ve been very clear we’re not trading him.” So there is no scenario that could develop where they’d trade him? “Absolutely not.”

It looks like it will be Packers or bust for Rodgers in 2021, a reality that probably contributed to the new reports on Monday, which indicate Rodgers has told some of those close to him he’ll be back in Green Bay this fall.

Let’s see what Wednesday brings.
