Earlier this week, the BMW Championship kicked off with the biggest names in golf taking to Caves Valley Golf Club for the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Before the tournament kicked off, Bryson DeChambeau was a popular choice from analysts to win the tournament. He started off the weekend with a solid four-under, 68 to sit four shots off the lead.
Then he exploded on Friday afternoon. With an outstanding 12-under 60, the American golfer stormed into a one-shot lead and set his career-best score at a PGA Tour event.
He missed a short six-foot putt on No. 18 to just barely miss out on joining the exclusive 59 club. DeChambeau wasted no time trying to equal that mark during his third round.
He found a birdie and two eagles on his first five holes to sit at five-under. After that, golf analyst Paige Spiranac couldn’t help but be impressed.
“Bryson being -22 under on a Saturday is crazy,” she said on Twitter.

She’s not wrong. And Bryson wasn’t done. DeChambeau added another birdie on No. 11 and now sits at 23-under for the tournament – with six more holes left to go today.
He’s putting it all together this weekend and currently has a four-shot lead over Patrick Cantlay. Even the best players in the world like Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson are no match for Bryson this weekend.
