Patrick Mahomes Reacts To C.J. Stroud’s Dominant Game vs. Michigan State

November 20, 2021 by The Spun

CJ Stroud attempts a pass.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes knows a thing or two about putting up video game numbers. That said, even the NFL MVP couldn’t help but laugh at C.J. Stroud’s first half stat line.

Ohio State rolled the Spartans 56-7 on Saturday and most of the damage came in the first half. The Buckeyes freshmen QB went off in the game’s first two frames and had caught Mahomes attention.

Stroud put his bid on the Heisman with a ridiculous aerial assault on Sparty.

Through two quarters, Stroud already piled up 393 yards and six touchdowns. All while throwing just two completions. Ohio State jumped out to a 49-0 lead over its conference foe and never looked back.

Stroud wasn’t the only Buckeye to make headlines in the Michigan State win.

With two touchdown receptions in the first quarter, senior receiver Chris Olave broke David Boston’s record for most career TD catches in Ohio State history. Boston’s mark stood for 23 years before Olave’s history-making 43-yard reception.

Stroud finished the day 32-35 for 432 yards and his six first half TD’s. Olave finished with 7 catches for 140 and two scores.

Patrick Mahomes can only hope to put up Stroud-like numbers in Kansas City’s Sunday afternoon battle against the Dallas Cowboys.

Mahomes is coming off a five-touchdown, 400-yard performance himself.
