It’s not a bad thing for NFL starters to receive game reps during the preseason, but sometimes, it’s just not worth it. Unfortunately for the Baltimore Ravens, they’ll be left wondering what if they just kept their stars off the field in their preseason finale.
On Saturday night, Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins injured his knee after catching a screen pass from Lamar Jackson. He needed assistance from the team’s trainers to walk off the field and into the medical tent.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Dobbins was seen leaving the field on a medical cart. That’s not a great sign, especially since he’s dealing with a knee injury.
“Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is out of the blue medical tent and appears to be going on a cart to locker room,” Zrebiec reported on Twitter. “Several Ravens offensive players are going over to to see him.”
Dobbins is currently listed as the No. 1 running back on Baltimore’s depth chart. If he’s out for an extended period of time, that would drastically impact the Ravens’ rushing attack.

In the event that Dobbins misses time because of this injury, Gus Edwards will need to lead Baltimore’s backfield. Last season, he had 144 carries for 723 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Hopefully, this isn’t a long-term injury for Dobbins and he’ll be able to return to action later this year.
