Pro Bowl kicker Robbie Gould shared his two cents on what direction his team should go in the upcoming draft over the weekend. Speaking to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, the 49ers kicker thinks the team could use some depth at DB.
“You’ve got to look at the corner position,” Gould explained. “Something that we were a little thin at last year. The safety position is probably another one that we will look at. I’m sure they always try to get some O-linemen and D-linemen.”
K Robbie Gould on the #49ers draft: “You’ve got to look at the corner position, something that we were a little thin at last year. The safety position is probably another one that we will look at. I’m sure they always try to get some O-linemen and D-linemen.”

The 39-year-old then joked about where 49ers shouldn’t go in the draft.
Saying, “As long as they don’t draft a kicker we are in good shape.”
Gould was a steady presence for San Francisco in 2021. As he has been for the majority of his NFL career. The 16-year vet knocked home 20-23 field goal attempts last season, and has only missed more than four FGAs one time since 2012.
Practice makes perfect. 😅

The former All-Pro achieved some newfound notoriety this past year after refusing to alter his warmup routine no matter who was on the field.
As long as Gould keeps hitting kicks at his career average 87 percent clip, he should have nothing to worry about when it comes to a spot on the 49ers roster.
