Robert Griffin III Suggests Ezekiel Elliott Trade During Cowboys-Buccaneers Game

On Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys faced off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first game of the NFL season.

During the first half of action, the Cowboys made a very interesting decision. The team decided not to give the ball to star running back Ezekiel Elliott – despite all of the offseason hype.

Fans weren’t exactly sure what to make of it. He received just four carries in the entire first half as he split time with backup running back Tony Pollard.

With Zeke riding the bench for the better part of the first half, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has a solution. He thinks the Cowboys should trade Ezekiel Elliott to the Baltimore Ravens.

“They might as well go ahead and trade Ezekiel Elliot to the Ravens. He would get more than 4 carries in the first half,” Robert Griffin III said.

Griffin’s suggestion is, of course, sarcastic. However, the Ravens could certainly use a running back like Elliott.

Over the past two weeks, the Ravens have lost their top three running backs to season-ending injuries. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards both suffered torn ACLs while Justice Hill suffered a torn Achilles.

If the Cowboys aren’t going to use Ezekiel Elliott effectively, perhaps they should give the Ravens a call.
