Heading into the 2021-22 season, the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers are both widely considered as favorites to claim an NBA title. But according to Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless, fortune leans heavily in one of these teams’ favor.
During Friday’s episode of UNDISPUTED, Bayless said LeBron James and the Lakers have “no chance” to beat the “all-time loaded” Nets squad over the next few seasons.
“In the next two years, LeBron has no chance to win another ring… This Nets team is all-time loaded,” he said.

With the full return of James Harden and Kyrie Irving from injury, Bayless believes his “No. 1 player in the world,” Kevin Durant, will lead an unstoppable squad over the next two seasons. Throw in the additions of Patty Mills, who led Australia to a bronze medal in this year’s Olympics, and Blake Griffin, who mounted an impressive NBA renaissance in 2020-21, and the analyst may be on to something.
This conversation on UNDISPUTED was sparked by the recent reports that the Nets are frontrunners to re-sign 36-year-old forward LaMarcus Aldridge after he cleared medical evaluations on Thursday.
Veteran signings like this one seem to be the mold that separates the Nets and the Lakers from the rest of the NBA pack.
Earlier this offseason, LeBron and the LA front office added a slew of veteran players, including Carmelo Anthony (37), Trevor Ariza (36) Dwight Howard (35), Wayne Ellington (33), Kent Bazemore (32) and Russell Westbrook (32) — making them the oldest roster in the league.
Entering year 19 alongside his superstar partner Anthony Davis, LeBron will look to prove Bayless and the rest of his doubters wrong this coming season.
