Sports Media World Reacts To Cris Collinsworth’s Performance

August 30, 2021 by The Spun

NBC’s Sunday Night Football is back.

The NFL’s 2021 preseason is wrapping up with a primetime Sunday night contest between the Cleveland Browns and the Atlanta Falcons.

Cris Collinsworth is back in the broadcast booth for this one.

The former NFL wide receiver turned sports broadcaster always seems to get social media riled up with his commentary. Unsurprisingly, that’s exactly what is happening on Sunday night.

Collinsworth and Michaels still find ways to talk about Tom Brady, even on a Falcons/Browns game.

— Mike Conti (@MikeConti929) August 30, 2021

NBC sucks… We have Collinsworth taking about Baker Mayfield’s height. We have Al Michaels calling our starting left tackle by the wrong name.

Did you hear Collinsworth! Another team is going to be rewarded with a #Browns cut player. Haven’t heard that in a long, long time #WRdepth

I respect Collinsworth a lot, but I couldn’t disagree more with the “Odell/Baker” issue. #Browns offense looked and flowed better w/out OBJ. IMO, Baker was forcing ball to him. For Cleveland to take next step, OBJ needs to be a team guy for offense.

I imagine Cris Collinsworth talking about “this whole narrative” about whole grain toast and absolutely ruining a waitress’s morning

Fans should probably go easy tonight, though. After all, it’s a preseason game that is pretty much inconsequential in the grander scheme of things.

The regular season will be here soon enough, though.

The Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open the NFL’s 2021 regular season on Thursday, Sept. 9. The reigning Super Bowl champions will host America’s Team in Tampa Bay to start the year.

NBC will have the call for that one, too.

Kickoff between the Buccaneers and the Cowboys is set for 8:20 p.m. E.T.
