Believe it or not Evander Holyfield, yes that Evander Holyfield, fought in a professional match on Saturday night. Sadly, it turned out how you probably expected.
Holyfield, 58, took on Vitor Belfort on Saturday night. It didn’t go well for Holyfield, who hadn’t fought in 10 years.
Belfort made it look easy against the boxing legend. There’s a big reason why. Holyfield apparently wasn’t even scheduled to fight until two weeks ago. In other words, he wasn’t even prepared or in shape to take on Belfort.
“Evander Holyfield is turning 59 years old next month. He hasn’t fought in 10 years,” wrote Arash Markazi of The Mightier 1090. “He wasn’t scheduled to fight as of two weeks ago. Whoever sanctioned this should be arrested.”

He wasn’t the only one talking about how depressing Evander Holyfield’s fight was on Saturday night.
Plenty of boxing fans took to Twitter to talk about the fight. Holyfield definitely shouldn’t have gotten back in the ring.
“Evander Holyfield is almost 60 and is allowed to have a professional boxing match Oscar Valdez tests positive for a banned substance and is still allowed to fight days later But Jake Paul is ruining boxing?,” said one fan on Twitter.
Take a look at what others had to say about Holyfield’s performance on Saturday.

In 2004, after defeat to Larry Donald, NYSAC barred Evander Holyfield from pro competition in NY, suspending his license.
The reason?
“Poor performance and diminished skills”
17 years later, Florida have just agreed to regulate him in a pro fight.
Disgrace.

Evander Holyfield shouldn’t be allowed to fight ever again. He was unprepared and outmatched on Saturday.
Someone could get hurt if Holyfield’s allowed to fight again. Then again, he’s a grown man and allowed to make his own decisions.
