The Los Angeles Rams have found a replacement for All-Pro punter Johnny Hekker.
On Tuesday, the Super Bowl champions signed Riley Dixon, who spent the last four seasons with the New York Giants.

Dixon should be far less active on his next team. His 74 punts went an average of 39.5 net yards for the NFL’s second-worst offense in terms of total yards and points last season.
Hekker, meanwhile, attempted fewer punts (67) even when including the Rams’ four playoff victories. The four-time Pro Bowler pinned 32 of them inside the 20 with only three touchbacks.
Having spent the last 10 seasons with the Rams, Hekker is more popular than the typical punter. Yet they ultimately cut their longest-tenured player to save approximately $2 million in cap space.
While the Rams didn’t specify Dixon’s salary, he should make less than Hekker during the one-year contract.
The Giants cut Dixon, whom they acquired from the Denver Broncos in 2018, last month after signing Jamie Gillan as a possible replacement.
