The first full weekend of college football action kicks off with some solid Thursday games later tonight — including four preseason top-25 matchups.
At 7 p.m. ET No. 22 Coastal Carolina will take on The Citadel at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina. The Chanticleers are coming off an outstanding season in 2020, going 11-0 in the regular season before falling to Liberty in FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl. If last year’s success is any indication of what’s to come tonight, star quarterback Grayson McCall and his squad should cruise to a Week 1 victory over the Bulldogs.

Next, No. 24 Utah will take on Weber State in Salt Lake City at 7:30 p.m. ET. Through a shortened Pac 12 season in 2020, the Utes posted a relatively disappointing 3-2 record, but ended up finishing the season on a 3-0 run. With four-year Baylor QB Charlie Brewer joining the roster as a grad transfer this season, Utah could be in for a solid season behind the veteran signal caller.

An 8 p.m. ET kickoff in Minneapolis will feature the first appearance of a top-five team so far in the 2021 season. Coming into Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium, No. 4 Ohio State will take on the Golden Gophers in a marquee Big Ten matchup. After their national championship loss in 2020, the Buckeyes will look to bounce back and continue their conference dominance in 2021.

Finally, No. 25 Arizona State will kick off their season with a matchup against Southern Utah at 10:30 p.m. ET. After a 2-2 Pac 12 season in 2020, the Sun Devils will look to get things back on track with a non-conference victory over the Thunderbirds.
