MLB outfielder Jon Jay has officially announced his retirement from baseball.

Jay is a former second-round pick and played in the MLB for 12 seasons on seven different teams. He also won the World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011.
He spent his first six seasons with the Cardinals before signing with the San Diego Padres in 2016. During his time as a Cardinal, Jay had 29 home runs, 217 RBIs, and 676 hits.
After Jay spent the 2016 season with the Padres, he signed with the Chicago Cubs in 2017 before playing for two different teams in 2018. He split time with the Kansas City Royals and Arizona Diamondbacks during that season.
From then on, he played for the Chicago White Sox, the Diamondbacks again, and also the Los Angeles Angels.
