The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles weren’t the only team to give us an insane finish to a preseason game this weekend. Today’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins went down to the wire in an epic finish.
With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Dolphins third-string QB Reid Sinnett, who had played the entire game, had the team in 4th-and-15 from Cincinnati’s 34-yard line with Miami trailing 26-21. He took the snap from the shotgun and scrambled, trying to give his players space to get deep.
As a pair of Bengals defenders bore down on him, Sinnett heaved the ball into the endzone for a Hail Mary. Jumping in front of the Bengals defenders, tight end Chris Myarick came down with the football for a touchdown.
With 1:21, the Dolphins took the lead, and extended it to three points with a successful two-point conversion. Miami won the game 29-26.

It was an incredible finish to an otherwise difficult game for Reid Sinnett. He led the team on two touchdown drives in the final six minutes of the game to cap a 12-point comeback.
That big performance in the waning moments of the game may not be enough to save Sinnett’s roster spot unfortunately.
But maybe it’ll help preserve his NFL career as teams look for quarterbacks to stash on their practice sqads.
What a finish that was!
