NFL legend Michael Irvin made his debut as co-host of ESPN’s First Take today, and it didn’t take long him to give us a viral clip.
On their first episode together, Irvin and co-host Stephen A. Smith got into a debate over who the greatest athlete of all-time is: Michael Jordan or Tom Brady? Smith argued for Jordan while Irvin argued for Brady.
But Irvin made his argument for Brady in the only way he knows how: With endless intensity.
Irvin was moving all over the floor as he made his case for Brady being the greatest. The crux of his argument was that Brady defied all expectations to get his teams to where they got, while Jordan was expected to given how high he was drafted in 1984.
The clip has gone viral with thousands of people professing their love for the clip. Naturally, the opinions by people in the comments vary wildly too:

“Football is so much of a team sport (than) basketball, Tom Brady literally can’t even control the outcome of one half of the game. Tom Brady isn’t even a top ten greatest athlete of all time,” one viewer replied.
“Michael Jordan>Tom Brady,” a Buccaneers fan wrote.
“I’m sorry mike but I have to say that mj had more weight on his shoulders than Brady. With that being said lebron is the goat,” a third fan replied.
Fans’ opinions on Michael Irvin themself range just as wide. But they’d better get used to him since he’s going to be a regular on Monday’s edition of First Take for a while.
