The NFL lost one of its young stars in Saquon Barkley to a year-ending injury early during the 2020-21 season. Based on the Giants running back’s new workout video, it looks like he’s close to 100 percent.
Barkley went down with a torn ACL in Week 2 of the 2020 season. He underwent surgery just a few weeks later and has been rehabbing ever since. Reports indicate he’ll be 100 percent to suit up in the Giants’ backfield in Week 1 of the 2021 season.
Based on Barkley’s latest workout video, we believe it. The rising star looks just as explosive as he did before his injury. In the video, he’s seen cutting and running at full speed.

Saquon Barkley was terrific in his first two NFL seasons. He ran for 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2018 and followed it up with a 1,003-yard, six-touchdown performance in 2019.
He was also impactful in the backfield, just as he was during his days at Penn State. Up to this point in his career, Barkley’s caught 149 passes for 1,219 yards and an additional six scores.
As long as Barkley’s 100 percent, he should be one of the better running backs in the NFL. His play will be critical for a Giants team hoping to make a run at the NFC East title this upcoming season.
Barkley will once again join third-year quarterback Daniel Jones in the backfield. Jones has one more year to prove he can be New York’s longterm quarterback.
