Vanderbilt might just get itself kicked out of the SEC by the end of the night following a dreadful performance against East Tennessee State Saturday night.
The Commodores were flat-out awful against the Buccaneers. One play in particular is bound to be the No. 1 play on SportsCenter‘s “Not Top 10” this week.
Trailing 13-3 in the fourth quarter, Vanderbilt quarterback Ken Seals took a snap and tried to make a quick throw to his left. He lost grip of the ball, it slipped out of his hands and an East Tennessee State defender picked it up and returned it for a touchdown. No, we’re not kidding.
This is one of the worst teams we’ve seen in a while. Wow.
Lets check in on Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt may hit a new all-time low this season, and that’s saying something. It’s pretty remarkable the Commodores play in the SEC.
The SEC has long been carried by Alabama. Georgia, LSU and Auburn have helped out every now and then. But there’s a big drop-off from Alabama to the rest of the conference. Vanderbilt is in its own abysmal level, though.
The Commodores haven’t played good football in a long time. And it’s not like they’re suffering all these close losses. It’s like their players just forgot how to play football.
Somehow, Vanderbilt lost to East Tennessee State on Saturday, beginning its season on a dreadful note.
