For the first time since taking over at his alma mater, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh can say he beat Ohio State.
The Wolverines beat the Buckeyes 42-27 behind physical play at the point of attack, a strong run game, and a steady hand at quarterback. From kickoff, UM played about as well as anyone could’ve hoped.
After the win, Harbaugh how the win felt. His answer should have Wolverines fans looking forward to even bigger things.

“The way it feels now,” Harbaugh told USA Today‘s Isaiah Hole. “This is just the beginning.”
Back in July, Harbaugh said Michigan would beat Ohio State and win the Big Ten championship or “die trying.” On Saturday, one of the two came true.
“We’re gonna [beat Ohio State] or die trying.”

Now the Wolverines travel to Indianapolis for a chance to capture a Big Ten title and secure a College Football Playoff berth. If Michigan were to win it all in 2021, it would be the school’s first national championship since 1997.
With the win over the Buckeyes, Jim Harbaugh finally got the monkey off his back. It’d been year-after-year of disappointing finishes and heartbreak for Michigan. Now UM fans probably can’t remember the last time a victory tasted so sweet.
