The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a historic run to the Super Bowl this past February, which resulted in Tom Brady winning his seventh championship. At 43 years old, the all-time great quarterback proved that he still has what it takes to win in the NFL.
This weekend, Brady’s miraculous accomplishment has been acknowledged by his peers.
NFL Network released the final segment of the NFL Top 100 list on Saturday, revealing who the players view as the best among them headed into 2021. Brady clocked in at No. 7, third among the league’s quarterbacks behind 2020 MVP Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.
Plenty of NFL fans will disagree with the ranking due to Brady’s age and perceived reputation, but it’s hard to overlook him after the impressive year he had in 2020. He completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 4,633 yards, 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Those numbers put Brady among the best quarterbacks in the league last year, which his fellow players clearly recognized during the Buccaneers run to the Super Bowl.

Interestingly enough, Brady’s No. 7 ranking is actually the second-lowest rank he’s received in the NFL Top 100 since 2011. In 2020, he came in at 14th, but in each of his other eight seasons, he finished sixth or higher.
On three different occasions, the league’s players voted Brady No. 1.

Tom Brady turned 44 this August and also underwent a fairly significant knee surgery to repair a torn MCL. However, he and the Buccaneers still their sights set on repeating as Super Bowl champions next February.
The seven-time champ normally uses perceived slights to gain extra motivation before he takes the field. Maybe he’ll use this positive reinforcement to try and push him and his team to another Super Bowl win.
Brady and the Buccaneers will begin their pursuit of consecutive titles in less than two weeks against the Dallas Cowboys. The two teams will start their 2021 seasons on opening night, Sept. 9.
