They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but not certain if that translates to trying to take all the players from your previous team.
Two more former Wildcats have headed to Seattle to join ex-Arizona coach Jedd Fisch at Washington, with running back Jordan Washington and receiver Kevin Green Jr. the latest to do so.
Both Green, who will be a redshirt sophomore, and Washington, a true freshman, participated in spring practice with the UA. Washington did not appear in the Spring Game, while Green not only suited up but also helped coach one of the flag football teams that played inside Arizona Stadium during halftime of the event on April 27.
Green appeared in 11 games over two seasons for the UA, starting twice including the Alamo Bowl. He did not have a catch in that game and finished 2023 with eight receptions for 97 yards.
Washington, a 4-star signee in December, was expected to compete for playing time behind senior Quali Conley, junior Rayshon ‘Speedy’ Luke and redshirt freshman Brandon Johnson.
Since Fisch left for Washington in mid-January he has lured 12 Arizona players to Seattle, including running back Jonah Coleman, cornerback Ephesians Prysock, defensive linemen Russell Davis and Isaiah Ward and quarterback signee Demond Williams Jr.
Of the 20 transfers the Huskies have added since Fisch’s arrival, 60 percent are from Arizona.
