The Arizona Wildcats might have the most underrated quarterback commit in the West, if not the nation, in Noah Fifita.
Fifita, from Servite High School in Anaheim, California, is ranked as a 3-star in 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He is ranked as the No. 736 player nationally, No. 51 quarterback, and the No. 55 player in California.
But MaxPreps is much higher on him than that, ranking him as the No. 8 gunslinger in all of high school football regardless of class.

As a junior, Fifita threw for 10 touchdowns, two interceptions and 1,263 yards in Servite’s COVID-shortened six-game season played this spring. In 19 career games for the Orange County powerhouse, he has thrown 49 touchdowns, six picks and 4,299 yards.
Fifita possesses a very strong and accurate arm, able to thread the needle and fit the ball into very small windows for his receivers. He also delivers a very accurate deep ball. He is very intelligent and has a very high football IQ.
With all these attributes, why isn’t he rated higher? The only explanation is he isn’t the typical size for a quarterback. Sitting at 5-foot-10 and over 170 pounds, Fifita doesn’t have that prototypical size that most coaches look for in a quarterback.
However, that doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter to him. It doesn’t matter to Arizona’s coaches. And it doesn’t matter to Arizona fans. Both the staff and the fans know they are getting a very talented gunslinger next year.
And they aren’t the only ones. MaxPreps agrees.
The bottom-line is it appears on a lot of levels that Jedd Fisch and Company got themselves a star-in-the-making with Fifita. And that’s not just on the field, but also what he’s doing to help Arizona’s recruiting. When all is said and done, Fifita is most likely going to be the foundation for UA’s 2022 class.
