
Arizona men’s basketball freshman forward Koa Peat will have some extra time to bond with Tommy Lloyd this summer.
Peat was named to the USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team on Friday following a week of training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Lloyd is the head coach of the U19 team, which will compete at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup June 28-July 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Peat is one of 12 players named to the team. He is one of two Big 12 freshmen to make the team, joining BYU’s AJ Dybantsa. Brandon McCoy Jr., a class of 2026 combo guard out of St. John Bosco (Calif.) and Arizona recruiting target, also made the team.

Former Arizona player Damon Stoudamire, now head coach at Georgia Tech, served as a court coach during training camp.
The U.S. will face Australia, France and Cameroon in Group D of the bracket. Arizona has won gold eight teams, most recently in 2021.
