Official visit season is in full swing and the Arizona Wildcats just finished up their second weekend of hosting prospects. On Sunday they received their first bit of good news from their efforts on the Recruiting Trail.
Malachi Joyner, a 3-star in-state offensive linemana, nnounced his commitment to the Wildcats.
Exited to announce my commitment to play football at the University of Arizona ⬇️!!
Thank you to my family and all the coaches that helped me on my journey.@JoynerStacyA @WFCoachCampbell @WFFootballTeam @ArizonaFBall @CoachBrennan @CoachOglesby @CoachDoege pic.twitter.com/T6fojm1GX9— Malachi Joyner 26’ 3⭐️ RT (@Malachi_Joyner) June 9, 2025
Joyner, who plays for Williams Field High School in Gilbert, is a nice first pickup along the offensive line for coach Josh Oglesby. Joyner showed decent footwork during his junior season and proved that he could be light on his feet. He plays with nice aggression and can be sticky with his blocks. He will need to add more weight and strength to himself, which won’t be an issue once he gets to campus. He will also need to work on his pad level and will need to finish up solidifying his footwork.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound tackle had 15 reported and chose Arizona over schools like Minnesota, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, San Diego State, UNLV and Utah State.
Joyner is ranked as a 3-star in 247Sports’ internal ranking, while not having a ranking in the Composite as of this writing. Internally, 247 has him as the 108th-best offensive tackle and the 17th player in Arizona.
He is the second offensive line commitment in Arizona’s 2026 class, which has six pledges overall, joining 3-star Michael Langi. He is also Arizona’s second in-state commitment with 3-star Chandler wide receiver Hamisi Juma the first.

More commitments should be coming, as Arizona has hosted dozens of recruits the past two weekends and have more visits scheduled throughout June.
