Arizona men’s basketball has landed another commitment this week from an African post player.
South Sudanese big man Mabilmawut Kon Mabil committed to Arizona on Friday, days after the Wildcats signed Senegalese forward Sidi Gueye. Kon Mabil’s commitment was first reported by Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority.
Kon is a 6-foot-11 big who made his way up through the NBA Africa Academy. He’ll join Arizona’s 2025-26 roster as a depth piece.

Kon told Wildcat Authority, “I committed to Arizona because of the culture and the relationship I have been able to build with Tommy Lloyd, Jack Murphy and the coaching staff. That’s something I love to be a part of. I talk to almost all the of the coaching staff and have been able to continue building a great relationship with them.”
