It was a rough go for the Arizona men’s golf team in its first Big 12 championship, finishing 12th out of 16 schools last week in Tulsa, Okla. But the overall strength of the Wildcats’ 2024-25 season was more than enough to earn them another NCAA Tournament bid.
The UA is headed to the Amherst Regional in Virginia, hosted by Liberty and set for May 12-14. It will be the program’s 33rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and seventh straight regional trip.

Seeded 6th, Arizona is one of 13 schools that will play at Poplar Grove Golf Club, with the top five teams (plus the low individual not from a top-five squad) advancing to the NCAA Championships May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Wildcats reached in 2024, finishing 15th, their second trip in the last four years.
Junior Filip Jakubcik has paced Arizona this season, taking 10th at the Big 12 tourney for his fifth top-10 finish.
The Arizona women’s golf team has also qualified for regionals after winning the Big 12 title in a playoff earlier this month in Texas. The Wildcats compete in the Lubbock Regional May 5-7 as the No. 3 seed, hoping for a berth in nationals May 16-21 in Carlsbad.
