It doesn’t appear Nate Yeskie will be a candidate for Arizona baseball’s newly-vacant head coaching job.
Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com is reporting that the UA pitching coach/associate head coach is joining Texas A&M in the same capacity.
SCOOP: Big news in the #SEC, as former @d1baseball Assistant of the Year, @ArizonaBaseball pitching coach Nate Yeskie has decided to join @CoachSchloss and @AggieBaseball as Associate Head Coach. He will not be heading to LSU. Strong get for the #Aggies.https://t.co/HAlzvOaiEG

The possibility of this move was reported by Rogers before word leaked that LSU was hiring Jay Johnson away from Arizona.
Yeskie’s departure is a big loss for the UA. He joined Arizona’s coaching staff in 2020 after 11 seasons at Oregon State and immediately turned around a UA pitching staff that was one of the worst in the country.
Arizona had a 6.21 team ERA in 2019 and saw that number drop to 3.87 in the shortened 2020 season and 4.60 in 2021.
At Oregon State, Yeskie was twice named the national Pitching Coach of the Year by Collegiate Baseball. In 2017, he was named the D1Baseball Assistant Coach of the Year. He has produced 15 All-American pitchers and help OSU win the 2018 College World Series.
