The Arizona Wildcats are one of several programs who have reached out to George Washington transfer Jamison Battle, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

George Washington transfer Jamison Battle tells ESPN that he’s heard from Marquette, Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, Arizona, Loyola Chicago and Cincinnati since entering the portal today. Averaged 17.3 points and 5.2 rebounds this season.

The 6-foot-7 sophomore averaged over 17 points and five rebounds a game this year for the Colonials, who finished 11th in the Atlantic 10.

Battle missed several conference games due to a concussion he suffered in a mid-January practice. When Battle was on the court, he was mightily productive, scoring double figures in all 15 games in which he appeared.

A native of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Battle’s connection to Arizona may be related to his AAU days, when he was a teammate of Zeke Nnaji for D1 Minnesota. Nnaji, who was in the same class as Battle, went on to play one season at Arizona before being selected in last year’s NBA Draft.

Battle is a tremendous shooter for his size, with much of his production coming from behind the perimeter.

As a freshman at GWU, Battle started in 30 of 32 games. He led the A-10 in made 3-pointers (89), 3-point attempts (243) and shot 37% from three. He was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.

Battle maintained a 35% clip from behind the arc as a sophomore. He knocked down six of 13 3-pointers in a career-high 29-point outing against Duquesne in January.

Along with being a top shooter, Battle is a workhorse. He averaged 36.5 minutes this past season and played 39 minutes or more in three of GWU’s last four games.

Other transfers Arizona has been linked to:

  • Pitt guard/forward Au’Diese Toney
  • Robert Morris forward AJ Bramah
