The Wildcats will join Michigan State, California, and Vanderbilt at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif. on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. The opening round games will be played on Nov. 26 when Arizona faces Vanderbilt and Cal plays Michigan State. The winners of those games will play on Nov. 27 as will the losers.
All four teams played in the postseason last year. The Wildcats, Spartans, and Commodores made the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Bears played in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT).
Vanderbilt finished 23-10 last season. The Commodores were 9-7 in the SEC. Like Arizona, they won a game in the First Four of the 2024 NCAA Tournament before losing in the round of 64. Vanderbilt is expected to return leading scorer Iyana Moore and leading rebounder Sacha Washington.
If Arizona and Cal advance to face each other, it will be their first nonconference game since the Wildcats joined the Pac-12. The Wildcats will join the Big 12 next season while the Bears play in the ACC.
The games are part of an event that includes a men’s tournament. That will feature Southern Methodist playing California Baptist and Fresno State facing Washington State. The men’s games take place on the same dates as the women’s games.
