Could you imagine?
When defensive lineman Jacob Kongaika transferred to ASU in the winter, it likely felt like a betrayal for Arizona fans. How would Wildcat Nation feel about a trade, one that could bring one of the Sun Devils’ top players to Tucson?
Wide receiver Elijhah Badger, who entered the NCAA transfer portal last month after four seasons at That School Up North, is set to visit the UA according to 247Sports’ Chris Hummer. He’s already visited Washington and plans to visit Florida, per Hummer.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Badger led ASU with 65 catches for 713 yards last season, his three touchdown receptions tied for most on the team. He did not play in Arizona’s win over the Sun Devils last November, but in 2022 he had eight catches for 92 yards and a TD in the Territorial Cup.
Badger, a former 4-star prospect from Sacramento, has 142 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 total TDs for his career.
Arizona has an open spot at receiver alongside junior Tetairoa McMillan and senior Montana Lemonious-Craig. It recently landed a commitment from former Old Dominion wideout Reymello Murphy while redshirt sophomore Kevin Green Jr. entered the portal to keep the position at eight scholarship players.
If Badger were to come to Arizona he’d be reunited with Bobby Wade, the UA receivers coach who was on the ASU staff from 2019-23 and helped recruit Badger to Tempe.
