Caleb Love won’t have to wait long to see his name be added to the Arizona Men’s Basketball Ring of Honor in McKale Center.
The former Wildcats guard received the news Wednesday that he’ll be added to the school’s Ring of Honor after qualifying for the honor by earning the 2023-24 Pac-12 Player of the Year.
Arizona athletic director Desireé Reed-Francois formally gave Love the news Wednesday in front of Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats team. Love is back in Tucson this offseason after playing with the Portland Trail Blazers in NBA Summer League.
Love’s former teammate and San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant was among those at Arizona practice to congratulate him.
“It’s a blessing. You look through all the pictures and all the guys that’s already in the Ring of Honor, and it’s a blessing to be in the conversation and up there with the greats that came before me,” Love said.

Love is the third player under Lloyd to be named to the Ring of Honor, joining Christian Koloko and Bennedict Mathurin.
Love was the 10th Wildcat to earn Pac-12 Player of the Year honors. As a junior, he averaged 20.0 points per game in Pac-12 play and shot 44.6 percent from the floor.
Love will be the 35th player in the Arizona Ring of Honor. All but one played at least one season in the NBA, the exception being Kenny Lofton, who played basketball for the Wildcats but went on to play 17 seasons in Major League Baseball.
Love, an undrafted rookie, signed a two-way contract with Portland in June.
