Had he not suffered a season-ending knee injury in November 2022, Jordan Morgan would have been drafted a year ago and kept Arizona from going two years in a row without a selection. As a result, he became the Wildcats’ first opening-round pick in 16 years.
The former UA offensive tackle was taken 25th overall by the Green Bay on Thursday night in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He is the first Wildcat offensive lineman picked since Eben Britton in 2009 and the first UA player to go in the first round since defensive back Antoine Cason went to the San Diego Chargers in 2008.

At No. 25, Morgan is the 10th highest-drafted player in school history, highest since Chris McAlister was 10th in 1999. He is the Wildcats’ 11th 1st-round pick.
The 6-foot-5, 311-pound Morgan started 37 games at left tackle for Arizona from 2019-23, a local product out of Marana High School who started twice as a true freshman and 21 games in a row from 2021-22 before injuring his left knee at UCLA. He was expected to be a high draft pick in 2023 before the injury, but because of it he returned to the Wildcats for a fifth season and ended up improving his draft stock.
Last season Morgan graded as the ninth-best offensive tackle in college football, per Pro Football Focus, allowing only two sacks on 459 dropbacks.
