No. 2 Arizona In Danger Of Losing In NCAA Tournament Upset

Second-seeded Arizona is in a battle with No. 6 seed Clemson right now in the Sweet 16 in the West Region.

Clemson led by double-digits in the first half, but Arizona eventually rallied to take a 46-45 lead on a fast break layup by guard Caleb Love with 14:33 left in regulation.

The Tigers refused to go away though, eventually retaking the lead before the Wildcats recovered to tie the game at 56. Clemson currently holds a slight advantage as we enter the final eight minutes in Los Angeles.

With a win, the Tigers would reach the Elite Eight for the first time since 1980. This year’s trip to the Sweet 16 is just the fifth ever for Clemson and their first since 2018.

As for Arizona, the Wildcats have unfortunately developed a reputation for choking in the NCAA Tournament. As successful as the U of A program has been for decades now, head coach Tommy Lloyd’s team is looking for its first Elite Eight appearance in nine years.

Arizona has not been to the Final Four since 2001, when the Wildcats reached the national championship game before losing to Duke.

You can watch the end of Arizona-Clemson right now on CBS. The winner will move on to face either North Carolina or Alabama in the regional final Saturday night.
