Are you confident Arizona football will win three or more games this fall? If so, you might want to plan a quick a trip to Las Vegas (or the nearest state with legal sports betting).
Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill released its college football win totals for every FBS school last week, and unsurprisingly their bookies don’t portend many victories from the Wildcats.
William Hill put Arizona’s win total at 2.5 (-115 under), the lowest in the Pac-12 and second lowest of any Power 5 program. The -115 odds means bookies believe Arizona is slightly more likely to go under 2.5 wins than over.
Considering Arizona has a new coaching staff and is coming off a 0-5 2020 season, the low win total was expected. The only ‘sure win’ on the Wildcats’ 2021 schedule is a home non-conference game against Northern Arizona, and even that is no guarantee.
Arizona’s other non-conference games are against BYU in Las Vegas and a home matchup versus San Diego State. The Wildcats have conference home games against UCLA, Washington, Cal, Utah, and it’s reasonable to think at least one or two of those matchups could go in Arizona’s favor.
The most likely road win on the calendar is a trip to Colorado. Arizona has beaten the Buffalos four straight times in Boulder.
Here is a look at the rest of the Pac-12’s win totals, per Caesars/William Hill:
- Washington 9 (-130 under)
- Arizona State 9 (-110 over/under)
- Oregon 9 (-115 over)
- USC 8.5 (-125 under)
- Utah 8.5 (-120 over)
- UCLA 7 (-110 over/under)
- California 6 (-120 under)
- Washington State 6 (-110 over/under)
- Colorado 4.5 (-120 under)
- Oregon State 4.5 (-120 over)
- Stanford 3.5 (-165 over)
Win totals will be available to wager on up until kickoff of Arizona’s season opener against BYU, which happens to take place less than a mile from the Vegas Strip.
And as a friendly reminder, the state of Arizona is expected to roll out legalized online and retail sports wagering this fall with a launch date of Sept. 9.
