If it wasn’t official before, it is now: Tyler Loop will be kicking on Sundays for the Baltimore Ravens.

The former Arizona Wildcats kicker was selected by the Ravens in the sixth of the NFL Draft with the expectation he would replace longtime Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker.

On Monday the Ravens released Tucker, with the organization insisting his dismissal is a “football decision,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Tucker is under investigation by the NFL over accusations by that he behaved inappropriately around 16 massage therapists from 2012 to 2016. Tucker denies those allegations.

Tucker is coming off the worst season in his 13-year career with missed 10 kicks in 2024. The 35-year-old is the most accurate kicker in NFL history.

The Ravens decided on Loop as Tucker’s replacement, impressed by his accuracy and leg strength. Loop converted 18 of 23 field goals tries in 2024 including six of nine from 50+ yards. He made a program-record 62-yard field goal in the Wildcats’ win over Houston in November.

Loop is the first kicker the Ravens have drafted in franchise history.
